Update #8
Hi everyone,
Lynda is now two days past transplant, and things have gone remarkably well so far. Other than some minor nausea and a headache — both quickly addressed by her care team — she is doing great.
Today, Day +3, begins the final round of two days of very strong chemotherapy. This step is intended to reduce long-term side effects of the transplant by wiping out the last of the blood produced before her new marrow could take over. Unfortunately, there is a long list of tough short-term side effects, and she will almost certainly experience some of them. So we are bracing for the next week and hoping for the best.
We are grateful for how well these first two days have gone, and we carry that same hope and faith into this next phase. Please continue to keep Lynda close in your thoughts and prayers as her body does this difficult but necessary work.
